Sen. Hirono is greeted by a couple of student council representatives from the fourth grade and Mrs. Luczak.

Fourth graders were eager to explain adaptation and their art integrated science project on insects.

Other students explained that they are also working on stop-motion animation to demonstrate their understanding of adaptation.

Sen. Hirono speaks to fourth graders about silk worm farming. Yet another area in which she is knowledgeable.

Sen. Hirono viewing the insect models students created from the species they are investigating.

She listens earnestly and asks "tough" questions!  Lol...good thing the students could articulate their responses. Many hands were raised to respond.
