Update as of August 7, 2020

This afternoon, it was announced that instruction through public schools on Oahu will start virtually, or via the  Learning at Home/Remote learning mode. This pertains to students on Sch. A, Sch. B, and Sch. C.

Generally, there will be 3 phases the first half of the first quarter:
  • Phase 1 - Meet & Greet/Orientation;
  • Phase 2 - Remote learning; and
  • Phase 3 - Return to campus instruction/ Hybrid Model.
Phase 1 will start August 17. The actually schedule for these session will be determined after the grade level teachers and I meet to determine how best to bring small groups of students onto campus to pick up devices, textbooks, and meet their teacher and social distance. More information is forthcoming.

Phase 2 will start no later than August 24. This is when synchronous and asynchronous instruction and learning starts. Some grade levels might be ready to move into instruction sooner than others because of the students' experience with Chromebooks and digital learning platforms.  But every classroom will be providing instruction no later than August 24. This phase will run through September 11.

Phase 3 will start on Monday September 14. This is when students will return to school following their staggered start times and A, B, or C schedule.

Thank you for your time and attention. Your ongoing support and patience is greatly appreciated by all of us.

Mahalo,
Laurie Luczak
